Educational Requirements

 
There are several resources for meeting the educational requirements for credentials with the Assemblies of God.
 
The Educational Requirement can be completed at an Assemblies of God college or university. Students with a Bible, Theology, or Ministry major at an Assemblies of God college or university which includes the course AG History, Missions and Governance, are eligible to apply for a credential by completing a core of 24 Bible/Theology Credits:
  • Certificate Level         48 Credits
  • License Level             72 Credits
  • Ordination Level         92 Credits
 
The Educational Requirement can be completed at a non-Assemblies of God affiliated college or university as follows: A degree from a Bible College, university or seminary not affiliated with the Assemblies of God is acceptable provided the transcripts are available and follow the equivalent credit guidelines listed above. In addition, the applicant must complete the correspondence course AG History, Missions and Governance through Global University.
 
The Educational Requirement can be completed through distance education with Global University for accreditation or through Berean for ministerial credit.The Berean courses are institute level courses offered through Global University that give students the minimum educational requirements to be credentialed. Global University also offers undergraduate degrees.
 

Obtaining Credentials

 
We are excited that you are considering applying for ministerial credentials with the Samoan District Council of the Assemblies of God, USA. We want to provide you with the necessary information you need and answer any questions you may have concerning credentials. In addition, we want to help you as you pursue a call upon your life for ministry.
 
As a credential Assemblies of God minister you join the ranks of men and women who for decades have proclaimed and lived the principles set forth in Scriptures. We encourage you to pursue your credentials diligently. For further information, meet with your sectional presbyter for an initial interview. If you are unsure which sectional presbyter you should contact, click here for information on each section or contact the district office for additional presbyter contact information.
 
Once you have made contact with your sectional presbyter, you will receive communication from the District Secretary’s office that will guide you through the other steps to pursue your ministerial credentials with the Samoan District Council of the Assemblies of God.
